GU6=3:42 gears. G80=Positraction. Since your truck is a K model (4WD) what leads you to believe the problem is in the rear end? I agree that's probably what it is and also what the "Hippy" says about the spiders and/or the posi unit (if you have one). Really need to get the cover off and have a close look. If that's where the problem is then taking the drive shaft out is only going to drag the back wheels to wherever you're trying to get to.
