It's about time... I have heard rumors of this lately, but nobody had any evidence that this was actually being looked into. I think that this is necessary to fix things less we end up in the next great depression. From what I have seen in NE Ohio, things are really bad. There are so many people without jobs, businesses are leaving the area and the country altogether, and homes are foreclosing left and right. It is just a terrible time to be in the middle class or less...
I am hoping that people use this money wisely though. Some experts are saying that they hope people will go out and spend this money to get the economy going again, but the way I see it, that is the worst thing to do. Rather then pumping all the money back into the economy, perhaps people just need a lesson in financial organization. I am no expert by any means, but wouldn't it make sense for people to be focusing on their house payments and paying their bills rather than going out and buying a 3,000 dollar flat tv with HD and blueray players and 10,000 DVD's to go with it? I think that the problem is just that people are spending their money in the wrong places and that is ruining the economy.
Let's also not forget the fact that almost half of the companies in this country are being shipped oversea's and things are being manufactured for cheaper. That certainly isn't helping things out around here. In my area specifically, there used to be several large corporations that employeed about 40% of the people around here. All of them have left the area and have relocated to Mexico... Leaving that 40% without jobs, pensions, or anything. They screwed over all these older people who were within 10 years of retirement and now they are competing the with next generation for jobs at Walmart, McDonalds, and Gas stations... I donno about you guys, but I see something majorly wrong with that picture...
That is just my thoughts on it though...
