Why would the warranty be void? For changing the oil and filter more often? That's ludicrous!
BMW or any manufacturer can not have a monopoly on oil services.
I have the recommended oil and OEM oil filter.
I will not reset the computer.
I would still go to the BMW dealer at the computer reading times.
Bmw builds engines too well now. So in order for engines to wear, I believe BMW and other car manufacturers set the maintenance schedules long so that the engines will wear out faster. Plus, they also save money on performing less oil changes. Let me see... If the oil change costs $80 per visit, then multiply by 1 million vehicles, for example, gee whiz that's $80 million dollars that BMW just saved! Just my theory, but it makes sense to me. They will never admit it though.
