My 2001 Malibu had a brake switch which activates the brake lights and immediately adjacent to the brake switch was the cruise control deactivate switch. The cruise control deactivate switch was to sensitive to vibration and the switch would bounce causing the cruise control to deactivate. I had to bend the contacts in the cruise control switch so they weren't so sensitive to vibration even though the dealership tech said the switch was operating normally. That's been 3-4 years ago and it still works.
