Re: replacing the fuel pump w/o dropping the tank?
Best test is to jump the gray fuel pump feed wire or fuel pump prime connector with a 12 volt fused jumper and see if fuel pump will run.
Also make sure you have good hot blue spark to plugs when cranking.
