Re: 89 Dodge caravan won't fire
Try checking for fuel at the test port on the fuel rail if equiped. If not, disconnect the fuel line at the throttle body. Make sure you follow safety guidlines ie, goggles, only when engine is cold, rags to catch fuel etc. Best to connect a fuel pressure gauge. Pressure should be 15 PSI. It should squirt fuel for at least a couple seconds. A dribble or no fuel indicates a dead pump (or a frozen fuel line). Check the connection for corrosion and power. The pump should turn on for a couple seconds when you turn the key to "on". Can you hear it? Tap the fuel tank with a mallet. An old trick to resurrect the pump. Throw a can of fuel conditioner in the tank if you suspect water. Might consider finding a warm garage for a few hours just to CYA.
