Re: Completed: Lotus 99T

I don't know of any better comp than ordering the kit, decals, transkit, P/e set. I just did that. Thanks for the inspiration!
I think it would be easy to make a texured surface on the chassis, but the yellow decals on the chassis would look terrible. That's one of my fave things about the chassis. I'll do what you did. I really like the decal choice for the undertray. Could you be more specific about the brand and scale? Same with the front brake ducts. I like the way the CF pattern photographs in that shot.
I have zero ref material on the car except for googled images. So I will ask two more questions about the real car for anyone with real knowlege. It has nothing to do with your beautiful project. Was there a rule at some point requiring the front nosebox to remain aluminum for saftey reasons? (The washers on the kit's footbox appear to prove otherwise.) The sidpod radiator covers look like sheetmetal in their design. (rolled ribs, embossed lettering, perimiter flange), just like the kits exhaust outlets. The team could have used a sheetmetal buck for a mold..i guess?
I'm all for having fun and taking liberties with my models to make them look better. I also agree too much wiring in scale looks sloppy. The lighter blue decals from the Museum collection are so pretty and tempting but I'm not sure they are still around. I ordered the TABU versions.
Once again fantastic job! My fave part on the model is your wiring over the fueltank. The 90% turns as the harness follows the contours are perfect.
