I am in the process of doing an engine swap on my 1997 3.1 Lumina sedan. The main wiring harness on the original engine has two connectors, one has ten blades and the other has five. The engine I'm installing has one, large fifteen blade connector. Although most do, not all the wire colors match (UGH!)
Is there a way to find out from the engine number what model of car an engine was made for? Or might there be an easier way to cross reference what the differences in the wiring harnesses might be?
I'm not a complete idiot but I'm definitely not an automotive electrician either. Wiring diagrams and schematics are a bit over my head.
Any help would be really appreciated.
