I hate to break this to you, but the fast and the furious wasn't about street racing, it was about making money off of ricers.
Now I know this is going to get a bad response, but street racers do not race honda civics and RX7 FDS, because civics are slow, and FDs are expensive and rare. Street racers drive Mustangs, Camaros, 350 Malibus, Cutlass's, and occasionally a Supra or FC turbo 2! The reason, because street racers don't "have a 100k under the hood man!", they have maybe a couple of thousand invested in the car in total!
I do not hate imports, there are plenty of imports I love, more so than domestics. This is the painful part for ricers though, street racers mostly race domestics. The only legitimate Japanese sports cars(aside from Nissan Silvias) are too expensive to race!

That's just ridiculous and insulting. You expect people to respect imports, but you make comments like that! Talk about hypocrisy.
