well never just what a mechanic says. Turns out the sound of what I was told was a rod going out was just a piece of thin metal hitting the flywheel because the torc bolts had come lose. However if anyone has some helpful info on switching the engines over it would be helpful for the future because I do plan on eventually doing that.
