As far as the U.S. goes the eclipse/talon/laser in any form(favorably 4g63) or year has a bigger aftermarket selection than the Lancer does, the lancer is relatively new in the u.s. so naturally its the reason for its small aftermarket selection. In my opinion the aftermarket's response to the U.S. lancer is "s l o w". When the new styled eclipse came out a few years ago it was better in the aftermarket area than vs the lancer's at this time. Even though the base eclipse is SOHC doesn't mean it sucks, with 2.4 litres its a big four cylinder and a number of turbo kits has came out to make that engine surpass the GT stock V6 version. The GT V6 eclipse has turbo's and superchargers available for it and i've heard numbers in the 500hp+ level for this V6
, although i would like to see those dyno tests for myself. I don't think its hard to believe though knowing its a V6(stronger) and @stock it has over 200hp.
The most popular nitrous kits for the GT eclipse's help it produce over 349hp easily.
If u wanna talk Japan-SPEC mitsubishi's than that can be a different story.
