I'm wondering if the B18B1 is really as strong as people say...with 9:1 compression I imagine it can handle a decent amount of boost? Say 8-9 psi or can I go higher?

u can go higher, if you have the proper fuel/ignition setup. st00pid ran 15psi on his stock block B18C1 which has the compression around 10 something. i say stay at 7psi or 8psi until you get your hands on one of those engine management system (hondata preferably)
if you're going turbo, its best to go with a full 3.0" exaust. it will help out with turbo lag and you will get more increased power with better response than going with a 2.25". 2.25" is like stock diameter.
