Something like that wouldn't be a problem with that. I most states, if there is a law about interior lights, I more than likely (in CA at least) states that interior lights are only illegal if you can see the actual source of the light, like if you can see the LED directly from outside of the car, if you just esee the glow from it (or even neons for that matter on the interior) then there's no law being broken.
