ok, i am a member on 7thgencivic.com or 2k1civic.com, whatever you want to call it (its the same site). anyway. depending on what options you have, this is how you do it. first, you have a bottom console infront of the shifter, either with or without an ashtray, it doesnt really matter which. you'll need to pop it out, it is held on by some clips, so some force is required. once you pop it out, you will need to disconnect the wires, if you have any. then, you'll need to remove the 2 screws in the bracket at the top of the opening. (requires some gymnastics moves, as this is a tight opening) anyway, after removing the 2 screws, you will be able eto pop out the main console where the HU is. it also has clips so you'll have to pull pretty hard. just dont break them. you could use a small flathead screwdriver with a rag wrapped around it to pry it out, just be careful not to crease your dash. then you simply unbolt the stock HU and replace it with your new HU. make sure you have a trim kit, so it doesnt look ghetto. also, you should check out the site
www.7thgencivic.com there is alot of information on the 7th generation civic, ranging from diy's to parts, along with forums where you can ask others opinions about your ride, get tech tips etc. cheers
