Re: 03 S-10 installing remote starter
yea I was confused because it was saying to cut the wire and connected the YELLOW wire and the BLACK YELLOW to it - which I got how to do that but I was not sure which wire to cut. then went I went back through all the wires and read what they were for - it says to to make sure the BLACK wire is connected to the ORANGE/BLACK wire in the car and thats when it hit me what needed to be done.
And to make it all worse once I got done installing this the yesterday it still wouldn't start - nothing at all no response from the remote starter, so I replaced the battery in remote and still nothing. So I had a friend exchange the module and remote for a new one. he got it from one of his friends who sells them at a local flea market and now it is working great..
the worse thing about it is I am installing for a friend in his step fathers truck (christmas gift) and he (step father) doesn't know about it and he never lets anyone borrow this truck so he had to get the truck 3 different times - 1st he begged him to use it giving a good excuse why he needed it, then I figure out it had PASSLOCK II and needed to get the by-pass module. The 2nd time he just took it when he was not home, and then yesterday they went out of town, thanks to his mom, so we could get the truck for a couple hours to get it working. Man it's been a hected week.
