For exhaust piping, you want somewhere between 2.25" and 2.5" for non-turbo applications. Any larger than that, and you'll start losing low end power due to a lack of back pressure. Any smaller than that, and you'll limit top end performance.

Oh, and you'll want manderel (sp?) bends in preference to crush bends too....
