If you used the compounds they should not develop too much of a layer that would prevent decal adhesion. You didn't mention that you waxed it. I think you will be fine if you wash the bod with mild soapy water, apply your decals, and then use the clear very carefully as I am sure you have heard about TS-13. If you go this route again in the future I wouldn't use compounds on the body until after the clear is on. I usually go to 3-4,000 before clearing. This is me though. The clear (if laid properly) will be affecting what your overall shine looks like, not what the shine was underneath it.
