I am finding this out, that's for sure!
Circuit City and Best Buy installers both want to "hardwire" between the antenna and the radio, and toggle between the two. They called it an FM modulator method, but said it is not at all like the wireless system that works like crap.
One installer who sounded pretty knowledgeable said he used to try the direct connect method all the time, and only about half of them worked as stated.
I e-mailed tech support at stompaudio.com and discountcarstereo.com and they both have components they claim will work, but I do not see myself being able to install them. Circuit City says they will install for me but of course cannot guarantee success!
Why so much confusion and hassle over what seems to me to be a pretty simple modification????
