Re: Transmission Fluid Check Procedure

Thank You Peterjon1.

The tale of two cities. I own a Ford Taurus and a Grand Caravan. I like my Ford because it keeps me busy repairing it and I like to work on cars. Here is the deal.

My local Ford dealership will not let you get close to the technicians. You are not even allowed to walk through their shop. However, with my local Dodge dealership, you can go down there and talk to a Tech or even phone and ask to speak with one. It is really fun to go to my Dodge dealership.

Anyway, I called the Tech at Dodge and he stated that the vehicle transmission does not necessarily need to be hot, but rather filled. Just as Peterjon1 explained.

Start the engine. Put in reverse, then put it in forward and then back to park and check with the engine running. I honestly did not know this.

Thank You
