If it is what I am thinking the part is, (sensor wire for the ABS?) on my 00 it is plastic. Again, if it is what I am thinking, turn your wheels hard left or right and look at the Sensor Wire.
I had a hub replaced at about 90K. The other original is still perfect at 142K. I would only replace it when it starts to "growl".
