A friend of mine has a 90 GMC Sierra that was purchase new as a work truck on a cement crew. This truck has been abused since the day it ran off the show room floor. It did need a motor at about 230000 miles and a tranny shortly after that, but the way it has been driven it stands to reason.

The truck now has 400K + on it (the odometer gave up at 247K). It was just painted this summer and is still used as a work truck.

I have a 94 that has 93,000 on it and I've never had a problem with it.

I wouldn't hesistate to buy that truck but I agree that it could end up needing a motor or tranny.
