For our cars, unless you are looking to make some serious power, Porting the stock 2g manifold is a perfectly viable option. The stock exhaust mani's, like the stock fuel rails are one of the parts that are over-engineered on our cars.

The only way you really need a tubular exhaust manifold is if you are running a non mitsu-housing turbo, or like I said above making serious power.
