Two things you can do 1: get a screened gasket for the EGR valve to catch the carbon particles, I got mine at NAPA, and 2: run a good brand of 87 octane gas with detegents. I swear by Chevron or Texaco with the additative Techron, keeps mine clean. You can also buy Techron at the auto parts store as an additative to your fuel. Two tankfulls will make a notiable difference.

Screened gasket eh? That sounds like a good idea. I don't have many Chevron or Texaco stations nearby but I'll look around.
