Seconded!
The positive post on the battery and the positive cable are notorious for corroding and causing poor connections. Disconnect the negative cable first and then remove the positive bolt and cable connector from the battery. Look inside the red rubber molded boot and you will likely find plenty of greenish corrosion. Baking soda and warm water will remove it. Clean the inside of the boot too. A stainless steel wire brush comes in handy for cleanup.
Clean the battery posts and use a bit of baking soda on them as well. Rinse everything off and dry with throw-away towels. You have a choice of using a film of grease on the cable connectors and bolts, or dielectric grease. Either one will do the job though.
Don't give up on the battery just yet..if you have 12.0 to 12.5 volts or more across the posts using a multimeter, the specific gravity of the battery is still high enough that it
should hold a charge. But at 7 years it will soon be time for a new battery anyway.
