Re: Won't start
What happens if you toggle the switch back the the OFF position and then back to ON?
When you first flick it over to the ON position, do all the lights on the dash come on?
With that said, how is the battery in this car? Is the positive connection at the battery clean? Or does it have a lot of corrosion on it?
Was the car running before this? Has this been a recent issue? Or something that kinda showed up out of nowhere.
Is the "Security" light on?
Sorry for all the questions, but we need to know these kinds of things.
Some things to try would be:
Clean the battery cable connection at the battery, completely remove the boot by pushing the bolt out and sliding it off, then completely clean the wire off. Baking soda mixed with water works excellent.
Keep toggling the ignition back and forth from OFF to ON, if when you turn it to ON, all of the dash lights come on, it should start, or at least crank.
My gut feeling is that this seems like yet another ignition switch problem, weve had several lately, and there is a post called "Ignition Switch Removal?" that covers the removal/replacement of the switch itself, with some added commentary about disassembling it and cleaning it internally.
