I am trying to look without a lift but I didn't see any wires on either frame rail under either of the doors. I am going to go back and look more now that I have confirmed it is supposed to be on the drivers side but I wanted to see if anybody has more info...

On my 2001 4x4 S-10, the ground wire connection was located behind the drivers side head light on or near the Radiator Bracket. You may have to remove the Air Filter Box and/or the head light to get to it.
