the drivers side just falls out when you take the two bolts holding the axle on, take the other side out of the wheel hub. it actually seperates in the middle, where it pivots. if you pry between the green thing and the mounting bracket. careful not to bust the seal. taking the engine out will take many more hours but in most cases, if you are doing major work to the engine, it is easier to take the tranny out by itself...if you got air tools, you can have it out in about 5 hours no prob
