There isn't enough clearance to pull the motor off the tranny input shaft without pulling or dropping the tranny too. At least I couldn't get enough clearance when I did mine. It's certainly a lot easier to just pull it all as one unit and put it back in as one unit too... You might as well now that you've made it this far with unbolting everything... Drop the cross member under the tranny, disconnect the rear and front motor mounts and put a few bolts back in to reconnect the tranny to the motor and pull it all out. You will have to drop the tranny side really low and lift the motor side high and at an angle in order to clear everything... Hope that helps some...
