I tried searching on it, but it wouldn't find any results since each word is only 3 letters. If it matters, I have an 01 SR5 4x4.
Does anyone have any experience with their suspension set up? Today I did the "bounce" test and it got about 3 rebounds before stopping. Add in the rough ride, I figure its about time to freshen it up. After some cursory research, it looks like OME is a pretty good set up for a reasonable price. But I was wondering how their "medium" vs. "heavy" duty set up compares. This is my daily driver but I want to do some off-roading but nothing too serious. Would the medium suffice for that or would heavy be better? I want to do a mix between streetable and good enough for trails/mild off-roading. I do no towing, but might in the future. Also how hard is it for an average Joe to replace the suspension? Is there anywhere that you can like rent a coil spring compressor? Certainly isn't something I own and due to the pressure I assume I don't want to just wing it with stuff I have around the shop. And is there anything else you need to replace to keep handling and the like reasonable?
Also relatively new to the 4wheeling side of things (was mostly using friends rides, unfortunately I have lost contact with most of them over the years, so far I have only done easy trail runs for fishing and a bit of messing around), but I assume that if I get bigger wheels/tires, I might want to increase my braking since it would be increasing rotational mass? This would also help for future towing. I assume a rear-disc conversion is the easiest on this. Once again, uncharted territory for me, but this looks reasonably easy. It looks like some 80s GM vehicles are pretty easy replacements, but anyone have any experience with it?
Also if anyone has experience with the OME for this generation, what size tires have you been able to fit under your 4runner? Its a 2-2.5" lift.
