Oh sure, I would gladly pay the price for the Supra. Believe me, if I owned a Supra, I wouldn't sell it for anything. I see myself buying and replacing the motor at the end of every road. There's more than just a handful of vehicles out there to spend 20K on even if it's 10 years old. Not just Exotics.
I've heard nothing but good remarks on the reliability and the stoutness (sp?) of the 2JZ. Met a few guys out in Montreal that have owned them, 2 of which said their motors lasted up past 250,000 miles (Don't know how much that was kilometers wise, something like near 400K). With a bit of performance to boot.
Although, like I said, I want something that I won't see some punk teenager cruising around in, and it won't be too common here in my territory. I mean, how often do you see, other than Hulk's kid, driving a Supra while he's still in high school? So, either that or the Z. I just really want something with power, looks, and a good name behind it.
As for problems with the Z, if some of you remember, my old manager back in Utah had one. 450HP and never had a problem. I believe it was a 92 or 93 TT. I loved it. Meh, he sold it, and still keeps in contact with the buyer. Still runs strong. Everyone hears each vehicles share of problems and stories. Most of the time, it's just a local thing with a small amount of people having the problem. And sometimes, it's a real genuine problem.
That didn't stop me from buying the Eclipse. Crankwalk and all that hyped up bullshit didn't pursuade my descision. I went after what I wanted. And I'll do the same again. But, I think if I get the Supra, that would be a car I'll own for life...or unless someone offers me triple what I pay for it.
