Mine is doing the same thing but only when my tank gets down to a quarter tank then it starts swinging. I have been making sure to fill my tank before I get that low and it works fine. The problem is on the fuel pump in the tank and it's called the "fuel sending unit" and it goes bad. There's an access panel in the trunk immediately behind the back seat in my 97 GPGT as well there should be in yours too. Either you can replace the sending unit on the pump or just replace the entire pump with a new sending unit attached.
I'm going to wait and see what happens with mine. I'll prolly just change out the entire pump if it gets any worse.
