Yeah, I figured that the wood grain contact paper would hold up better than the paint as it will just chip off again. Too much work sanding it down before painting etc. Anyway, I think that the added woodgrain would give it a nice touch as an addition to the already woodgrain interior trim. When i do get it done i'll post some pictures for everyone to see how it looks.
This weekend i repainted my center wheel caps as the paint was flaking off and the cream color platic exposed gave the car a real junkyard look if ya know what i mean . So i sanded the wheel center caps down with some 400 grain sandpaper and gave them 3 light coats of auto paint. Looks really good!
