Ditto to tempfix but here's a little more info. P0700 means there is a problem with the transmission control system. This system is comprised of a computer (transmission control module), sensors, and valves. From what I can read on it, P0700 is a general code with several possible causes. In this guys case it turned out to be a sensor:

More on sensors. Don't know if an 00 has both an input and output sensor but, if you're speedometer has been acting up as well, the output speed sensor or it's connection or wiring are bad. If the speedo is fine I would lean towards the input sensor.
