1) Panasonic or Pioneer are good ones to get for that price range. Maybe a JVC too.
2) Smack your friend once or twice.
3) Head to
www.crutchfield.com and use their "what fits my car" to see what you need for your specific car in terms of wiring harnesses, dash kits, and such. All can be found on ebay. You don't have to buy from Crutchfield, but just so you know they give you everything you need to hook up your gear for free at the expense of paying full retail. Installing a deck is easy. A monkey could do it.
