sounds like he's the guy you ought to be talking to. there's nothing inherent in the belt replacement process that ought to affect the speedometer.

if you're interested in doing more than oil changes the *very* expensive factory manuals, including the electrical one which shows all connectors etc and their location, will be the way to go.

this is typical of the alternator belt. it is adjusted much tighter than i've been used to on other vehicles, and i usually adjust it a couple of times shortly after installing a new belt because i'm sceered to tighten so tight without a belt tensioner gauge.
