Ok. I am having complications. The corrosion from the battery ate into the bolt head for the positive terminal (and the connection boot is swollen, making the bolt very tight) and when I tried to unloosen it with a ratchet, it stripped the head, making the bolt unremovable. I tried a can of battery acid cleaner, but the bolt is too far gone to turn. What do you folks suggest? Should I cut the bolt and replace it when I install the new battery? Is it possible to replace the connection/boot? OR do I need to replace the whole positive wire? If so, how hard is that?
