Welcome to the forum. You have to be sure the belt travels in the correct direction around all the other pulleys if you bypass the compressor. Not being near my cars to check and not knowing what engine you have, I can't say if when bypassing the compressor you will have a straight line between the two pulleys on either side of the compressor pulley. If you do, tie a string around the path of all the pulleys and take it to your suppy store and have them match up the length. Remember to get it a little smaller then the size of the string to account for the belt tensioner being in the relaxed position.
