It was reported a few weeks ago that the Bengal is going into production. It's a four-seater with the top up and a two-seater with the top down. It has a rear side door to provide access to the rear seat...for golf bags.
It's front-wheel drive and is powered by a V6 engine. The transmission is mounted in the front of the car as opposed to between the engine and the firewall as in most FWD cars. This setup allows for a longer wheelbase.
Having seen it at a few car shows, I don't see what all the excitement is about. It's not all that pretty. It's not all that interesting from the engineering side. Other companies make better convertibles and, probably, sell them for less than what Buick will sell this one.
