The pellets are NOT a lubricant. They actually stop the waterpump and the rest of the cooling system from leaking. Once the powder from the pellets is wet, it stays in a liquid 'mud' form until a leak occurs and the pellet powder fills in the gap. As soon at it hit the air, it becomes a cement like power that stops the leak.
