Replace the valve. Every blazer I have maintained will eventually need one. Your problem isnt carbon, the egr has a pental possion sens and tells the computer what percent it is open and trys to adjust or that it recieves no signal back at all. been there done that. want to know for sure, buy a new otc scanner, $ 2500
