Completed: Tamiya 1/12 Scale Honda RA273

Like several of Zoom-Zoom's cars this is one I completed as a build review for the latest issue of Scale Auto magazine. Now that the issue is out on the stands and people are getting their copy in the mail I can share a few more pictures.

The model was built 100% OOB and it's a nice kit to build other than those big ugly screws that hold the front nose piece on. I used Tamiya TS-Racing White and other various metallic colors along with typical dry brushing, etc... on the engine parts. I used Tamiya's new weathering sets on the exhaust. The weathering sets work well, this was my first attempt at it, but I think an airbrush would have been better. The kit calls for the chrome wheels to be sprayed with an overcoat of smoke but in all of my reference pictures they needed to be much more bronze than what smoke over satin chrome would achieve. Mine are painted with a mix of TS-Gold and TS-Champange Gold then overcoated with smoke.

It will soon get replacment latches for the nose piece and some brake lines .

Thanks to Zoom-Zoom (Bob Downie) for these great pics he took of my model. Thanks Bob

Thanks for looking...
