Thanks for taking the time to read this. Please help me out on this situation.

1996 Eclipse GS (I think)
Automatic

It has been running okay all week and everything and all of a sudden when my mom comes out the building from work and starts the car it cut off.So she called me . So i verified her complaint which is when you start the car it cuts off....


I noticed that when you start the car the rpms will go to bout 2 grand like normal and drop all the way down to zero instead of stopping at about a grand for normal idle...

So i kept my foot on the gas at a 1k rpm. when we were sitting at a stop light or just sitting and drove it home which is about 20 mins away from her job and got it ohome and when we pulled up in front of the house i let my foot of the gas and it held the rpms at about a grand for normal idle.

What would cause the rpms to go down and make the car cut off? or whatever its doing... Shes scared it might cut off on her.............
