I think I paid like 8 dollars for freon. Check WalMart orsome cheap place that sounds high. Is that a 16 oz can? How many ounces does yours take? There should be a sticker next to the evaporator box. 1 can might be enough to check but it depends on the size of the can. Another thought. You could buy a can of freon with uv dye in it so you could check for leaks at the same time as charging. If its a small leak you might not see it for ahwile. Check at night with a black light.
