same thing happened on my old 95. I used some type of easy out/screw extractor made by craftsman that fit over the entire bolt. it is shorter than a regular socket. the whole kit is about $30. I had to hammer it on and then used a ratchet to get it out. I think stripping that bolt is one of the worst things that can happen while swapping the CPI/nut kit. Adds a few hrs to the job.
