You've got the oil pump in your hands, right? Just replace it. It's out, not all that expensive, and its a real pain in the ass to change when the motor is in the car. That's what I would do. But, if you want to reuse it, you can ~carefully~ cut the tack weld out, but make sure the new pickup tube fits the pump. You also might have to do some minor surgery on the pump to clean up the area with the weld to make sure the new pickup tube fits snugly. I think the last one I did the tube was held in with a pinch bolt. And before I forget, yup, tack the new tube in if there isn't a hole for a pinch bolt.
