It's possible it could be the CRANKsensor. Check this out.
The CRANKsensor's common symptom is to fail when hot and, be difficult to troubleshoot without a great diagnostic system hooked to it when it's hot.
Here's the usual sceanario. The car starts dying usually when it's completely warmed up, on the road or slowing to a stop after a run, or on a highway. Commonly if the car stops it cools down and will restart and run fine till those temp conditions exist again on the sensor. Also, it may just jerk as the ignition quits spuratically as it reaches it's failure temp zone.
It's hard to troubleshoot by shops since it works fine when the engine and sensor is cooler.
Moreoften, changing it reveals it WAS the problem.
Depending on the area, the shop cost is around $200 to get under the "flywheel" harmonic balancer wheel on the engine and replace it.
