You could take the LT1 and replace the intake manifold to convert it to a carbureted engine so it'd work for the Caprice. Or a crate engine 350 w/ 295 HP is rougly $1500 from GM, or you could pick up a carbureted 350 from a junkyard. Most junkyards come with a 60 Day warrantee so if the engine's a no-go, you can simply return it.
