Yeah its almost like these things were designed to crack apart on contact with human hands. Mine WAS in pristine shape, till i touched it and it broke in 2 pieces and all the tabs fell off...oh well. I would go with the accord setup or get a cover plate or something off of ebay or make it yourself, they epoxy onto the front of the unit and hold it all together. As for the tabs, epoxy some metal ones on and call it a day.
