well, 53 in a 35 is pretty bad, because anything 10 mph or over gets filed to your insurance company, which means your rate goes up. it could be worse, because anything over 20 or 25 mph over the speed limit is wreckless driving I believe.

Anyway, here's how my lawyer always gets me out. He files a discovery request, which is basically where they have to send you everything they're going to use against you in court. There's like 8 documents for the radar gun alone. Most of the time the cops won't go through the trouble to get all the stuff, because it's a big pain in the butt, since alot of the documentation is in the state capital, where the state DMV headquarters are.

Anyway, if they don't give you the stuff, the court dismisses your ticket, and if they do file it, they're bound to leave something out. So just get a lawyer, it'll be a little more expensive up front, but your insurance won't go up. Someone else on the board suggested prepaid legal services, this isn't a bad idea either.
