replacing the clutch

So I had fixed all the problems with the blinkers, found the flasher for them, and everything is working fine....still havent found out whats causing it to idle high, and then low when I first start it up....

but the other day I was on my home from work, and my clutch went out....I was already having a crappy day that day.....

I went to advanced Auto parts and picked up the clutch...but this is the first time ive ever replaced a clutch seeing as all my cars were automatics, and this is my first standard...

if there is a way to do it without pulling the engine...or anyone knows a website with step by step instructions....including pictures (if no pics, thats cool too) then it would be awesome.....

also

I cannot find a Haynes, Chilton, or anyother kind of Service manual for my car, I have an '87 Jetta, but all I can find is '93 and newer....

Thanks a bunch, I appreciate the help yall give...
